I owned a pairs of Birkenstocks when I was in high school and wore it pretty much exclusively. That is about 9+ months out of the year (I lived in Texas), daily. I had those for about 10 years, and they weren't even leather. I adored my birks, they molded to my own footbed (or else my husband would have stolen them). So I finally decided to get a new pair. They are very stabilizing shoes - the molded, cupped, heel adds security and you don't roll around. Now, I can't say they are miracles, but I am glad I got a new pair.
As for this style. Now that I am a grown up, I am happy to find pretty Birkenstocks they don't "look" like Birkenstocks - no offense. These are delicate and feminine looking. I will say that on my right shoe the strap likes to slide over a bit..making it look kind of crooked instead of lining up and going down the middle of my foot, it is a bit off to the side. I haven't tried to fix it yet and it is certainly not an issu......
